Our Legacy

The story of Deane Constructions (NSW) Pty Ltd is one of integrity, resilience, and staying true to our word—values that have been passed down through generations. Our roots trace back to James Deane, who first earned a reputation for quality and reliability in the residential housing sector. Joined by his son Ron, they built more than homes—they built trust, operating for over 15 years as J Deane & Son and laying the foundation for what was to come.

With James’s retirement, the business expanded into commercial and industrial construction. Ron Deane, together with Bill Hughes, formed Hughes & Deane Builders Pty Ltd—a partnership focused on public works and civil engineering across the Illawarra. For nearly a decade, they delivered honest work and solid results. When Bill retired in 1988, Ron established R&L Deane Builders, aligning the company with the growing needs of heavy industry, commercial clients, and local government.

In 1999, the next chapter began. Grant Deane stepped in to carry the torch, continuing the family tradition with the same work ethic, values, and passion that had defined the business since day one. As part of a long-term vision, Deane Constructions (NSW) Pty Ltd was formed in 2004, now operating as the principal entity for all construction activities.
Today, Deane Constructions is a company built on more than seven decades of experience. Our team of skilled builders and construction managers deliver complex projects across a range of sectors—from retail and education to health, industry, and commercial developments. Based in the Illawarra, we proudly serve clients across Wollongong, Sydney, Western Sydney, the Southern Tablelands, and the South Coast.
